I relate heavily to this. My first letter from 2019 even said I had "Asperger's". My second document was a 20ish page report that really seemed like it was written a lot more for gatekeepers than to help me better understand myself and the resources recommended at the end were hot garbage. They included the Autism Speaks adult toolkit, some psychiatrist who lived two hours away and didn't see adults, a charity for parents of autistic children, some generic hotlines, local PEERS groups, and some automated healthcare accommodations generating tool that can't execute basic syntax.

The client really should be centered a lot more in this process and I found I was able to learn more by going to adjacent professionals like occupational, speech, and educational therapists.
