I've started to think we have to come up with some kind of innovation, likely somewhere in technology, that compensates for our hardwiring. The traditional methods like protesting, voting, war, etc. only yield temporary and fickle results. My hope that there's a way to override what our brains are innately optimized to do comes from how we've done it many times before with skills like reading and doing math.
